i thank you God for this most amazing
day: for the leaping greenly spirits of trees
and for the blue dream of sky and for everything
which is natural, which is infinite, which is yes

For Seeds, Plants, Bulbs & More...
J.L. Hudson, Seedsman
If you only ever have ONE seed catalog, this is
the one you will want to get. It is my most
cherished seed catalog ever and I save them all.
This is a very different kind of catalog, there is
nothing you can't find, it is like an encyclopedia
of seeds and everything the plantsman and woman
wants and needs to know. You study this catalog.
If you are a gardener you will never be the same
once you see this. They have a wonderful online
site but I also always get the paper catalog which
they will send you for free.
I want to share with you what they say on their
site about their company. I guarantee you will
will never have known anything like it, unless
you know them already!
Scope and Purpose
We are a public access seed bank - not a commercial
seed company. You will find that our presentation of information and how you access our seedbank is a bit different
from ordering seeds from the usual on-line commercial enterprise.
Our purpose is the preservation of botanical diversity,
and the preservation of vanishing knowledge of the uses
of plants - called "ethnobotany" or "ethnobotanical knowledge". To this end, we distribute rare seeds from every continent;
native plants from around the world, including flowers, vines, trees, cacti, culinary herbs, heirloom vegetables,
ornamentals, hardy perennials, medicinal plants, and tropicals. We also distribute Gibberellic Acid-3, complete GA-3
kits, and a full
line of supplies for priming your seed with this
powerful natural germination enhancer. We also
distribute many unusual books about edible plants, medicinal plants, American Indian, Australian, and
African ethnobotany, books on seed saving, source
lists and more.
Please don't miss this catalog/site. These people
are doing the most incredible work and they are great
to work with. They were, by the way, established in
1911!
Pine Tree Garden Seeds
This has to be my most favorite and most oft used
seed catalog. They are a small company in Maine
and you get smaller quantities of seeds, more
appropriate for the home gardener who can't use
the hundreds of seeds one often gets, at lower
prices, and what a glorious selection. Their
catalog itself is a feast of riches, and you can
just sit and read it like a novel. I adore them.
You will too! And this is their online site but
you can get the paper catalog too which I highly
recommend.
Renee's Garden
This is such a beautiful catalog and one I have
often ordered from often. I cannot recommend it
highly enough. It offers "Gourmet Vegetables,
Kitchen Herbs & Cottage Garden Flowers." This is
one of those catalogs where you can find heirloom
flowers you can't find elsewhere which is one of
my favorite things about it. Beautiful website.
Select Seeds
"Heirloom Flowers for Modern Gardens." A
wonderful catalog and another one I love
when looking for special, hard-to-find
old-fashioned cottage garden flowers...
Groco Seeds
These people sell on eBay and I have been buying from
them for years because you can get vast quantities of
seeds very inexpensively. As I plant like the "Whirling Dervish of Seeds," this is the best deal for the best price
and a great selection...
Seeds Of Change
"In 1989, Seeds of Change started with a simple mission: to help preserve biodiversity and promote sustainable, organic
agriculture. By cultivating hundreds of open-pollinated, organically grown, heirloom and traditional vegetable, flower
and herb seeds, we have kept to this mission." ~ From "Seeds Of Change" catalog
