I have been involved in Animal Welfare all my life, in fact for several years I ran a non-profit shelter for disabled and
unwanted parrots and other domestic birds. It is very hard work and done for love, certainly not for money, but it is a very
expensive proposition to run and keep going.
There are always so very many good causes that we would like to support, but rather than nickle and dime it, so to speak,
amongst many different causes, I like the idea of choosing one and putting my whole heart and soul into helping them all the
days of my life. I have now adopted three pugs, Babs, Sampson, and Coco, and when I am able to move into a larger cottage
with a fenced yard for playing (all of my dogs are always inside dogs!), I would like to open my home to other sweet little
ones. I take the elderly or special needs ones that are hard to place. They are the dearest loves and will always have a home
with me.
I have to tell you that having been involved with and known about a good many rescues for many different kinds of animals,
I have never seen a rescue run with the integrity of this one. This amazingly hard working group of people placed 200 pugs
last year, and they all get the most amazing medical care and more from the moment they arrive at the rescue. Some come with
very serious medical problems requiring extensive medical care and this gets very expensive.
I hope to encourage people to donate to them -- you can become an Angel and donate toward their care if you are not able to
adopt. These are the most precious dogs, and they deserve all the love and care that can be given. I hope that you can help.
